Ceramic Residency at the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum, Taiwan
July - September 2019
Monsoon season in Taiwan, I arrived at 9.30pm to a thick wall of heat and humidity. I was collected from the airport and being driven Yingge where I would be living for the next three months. As we sped down the motorway, lights, with signs I did not understand, flashed around me. Mountains folding into the distance.
Yangmingshan National Park. These beautiful green mountains with their long grasses blowing in the wind, were the beginning of my journey into Taiwan wild landscape. I hiked here for a day, feeling safe with a community of locals and hikers and travellers around me. It was my introduction to Taiwan and its colours and wonderful wildlife sounds.
